Computer Center
The mission of the Information Technology Department of the School of Economics is to be a service department that provides support for the efficient functioning of information and communication technologies in the academic and administrative areas of the School.
Functions
Two areas are available to serve undergraduate students:
- Computer Center, with 36 workstations equipped with specialized software to support classroom learning. All computers have Internet access and laser/color printing services.
- Multimedia Room 1, with 43 computers, is used for courses that require students to actively practice using the equipment. All computers have Internet access and laser printing services.
Students may also use this space to complete their assignments and lab work during periods when it is not reserved for classes.
Graduate students work in Multimedia Room 3, which has 27 computers with specialized software, Internet access, and laser printing. Some graduate-level classes are held in this room.
Four wireless antennas are strategically located in the building’s public areas—five in the Library and one in the Graduate Studies area—allowing students and professors to connect to the Internet using their UANL credentials and personal devices.
Computers and printers, along with IP telephony in administrative areas and faculty/researcher offices, support the daily tasks of staff members.
Access to the Computer Center and Multimedia Room 1 is exclusively for regular undergraduate and graduate students of the School of Economics.
