What is my situation if I failed a fourth opportunity?

Curriculum Plan 102 (2006)

*Does not apply to students who enrolled starting in 2019.

You are placed under a “suspended” status. This means you cannot continue your studies until you pass the failed course(s) in the fifth or sixth opportunity.

When can I retake the course(s)?

You have the option to retake the course in the next academic semester or wait and take it in the following one. In October or November, depending on the semester in which you wish to take the exam, you must submit a request to take the course(s) in the 5th or 6th opportunity and complete the corresponding payment.

Example: If you failed in January–June 2020, you can retake it in August–December 2020 or wait until January–June 2021.

What is the exam process like?

If the course is being offered that semester, you must: • Inform the professor that you wish to take the exam. • Request permission to attend the class as a listener. • The exam will be applied during the regular final exam period.

If the course is NOT being offered that semester, you must: • Study independently. • Inform the professor that you wish to take the exam. • Ask for contact info and office hours to clarify your questions. • The exam will be held on one of the final exam weeks. • You must stay alert for date confirmation.

See the procedure “Request to take non-enrolled course(s) in 3rd, 5th, or 6th opportunity” (exclusive to Plan 102 [2006]).

What is the reactivation of student status in the Curriculum Plan 102 (2006)?

Reactivation implies switching to a Plan 420 (2019) student type. This means you return to active student status (not suspended) and take the pending course(s) as regular (not extraordinary).

If you fail again, you will have access to a 6th extraordinary opportunity.

Only students from Plan 102 (2006) who failed one or more subjects on the 4th opportunity in the last academic period are eligible to request reactivation.

Outstanding debts take priority over any other payment. Before making any payment, you must clear any existing debts, or the payment won’t be processed.

To re-enroll for the next academic period, you must have no outstanding debts.

When is a Debt Considered Active?

3rd or 5th extraordinary exam → A debt is considered active the next business day after the last day of class of the semester.

2nd, 4th, or 6th opportunity → A debt is considered active the next business day after the exam date.

Other types of debt → It becomes active the next business day after the communicated due date.

How is the Surcharge Calculated?

To the amount shown under “Otros Adeudos,” add 20%.

[Debt × 1.2] = Total amount to pay (including surcharge)
