EXCI exam for the Ph.D. in Economic Sciences
Information for Applicants to the Ph.D. in Economic Sciences.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or have completed all coursework for an undergraduate program
- Take the general admission exams required for UANL graduate programs:
- General Knowledge Exam (EXANI III) — Fee: $1,060.00 MXN
- English Proficiency Exam (EXCI) — Fee: $505.00 MXN
- The official registration period is in May 2019
- Exams are administered at the Facultad de Economía on:
Minimum scores required:
- EXANI III: 1,100 points
- EXCI: 40 points
Registration for admission exams:
- Go to https://www.uanl.mx/.
- Click on the “Prospective Students” section
- Under Graduate Programs, select “Graduate Admission Contest” here.
Once registered for the exams, you will receive: An application form. A registration form for the mandatory preparatory courses
- Duration: Five weeks, from May to June 2019 (dates to be confirmed)
- Schedule: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Cost: $2,250.00 MXN per course This fee is payable only after acceptance into the Ph.D. program
- Submit required academic documents for evaluation to the Graduate Studies Division of the Facultad de Economía (deadline: May 2019, date to be confirmed)
- Attend an interview with the Graduate Admissions Committee of the Facultad de Economía (dates to be confirmed)
- Foreign applicants whose second language is Spanish must take a Spanish proficiency exam administered by UANL
The Ph.D. in Economic Sciences is part of CONACyT’s National Register of Quality Graduate Programs, which provides:
100% scholarship coverage for the full duration of the program, including:
- Rectoría enrollment fee: approx. $4,300.00 MXN per trimester
- Faculty of Economics enrollment fee: $1,430.00 MXN per trimester
- Course tuition: $5,700.00 MXN per course
- Monthly living stipend from CONACyT: $12,112.00 MXN
These benefits are granted because the program is full-time. Students may not work during their studies and are required to complete a 40-hour weekly academic residency at the Faculty.
Academic documents must be submitted for evaluation by the Graduate Studies Division.
