Policies and Guidelines

These were designed and approved by the University Council in December 2004 to protect students participating in these activities.

 

Steps to begin your Professional Internship

  1. Go to UANL’s Office of University Engagement and Social Service, Window 3 at the Rector’s Office, with the following documents:
    1. Copy of your academic transcript (kardex).
    2. Copy of the signed agreement*.
    3. Proof of accident insurance*.
    4. Official letter from the Faculty, signed by the Internship Coordinator.
  2. The Office of University Engagement and Social Service will issue an internship assignment letter (original + 3 copies). Make sure your personal information is accurate.
  3. Take the assignment letter to the company for signature. All parties (company, Faculty, Engagement Office, and student) must keep a copy of the signed agreement. The original is for your records.
  4. At the end of your internship, you must complete the process to obtain your certification.

 

Steps to certify your Professional Internship

After completing your internship period, request the following from the company or organization:

  1. A completion letter on official letterhead, including:
    1. Your full name, student ID, academic program, and semester.
    2. Start and end dates of your internship.
    3. Start and end dates of your internship.
    4. Full name and signature of your immediate supervisor.
    5. Full name and signature of the HR representative.
  2. A final report of your activities.
  3. Your performance evaluation, to be completed and signed by your supervisor.
  4. Attach your assignment letter (yellow copy) to the documents above.
  5. Submit all documents to your Faculty’s Internship Coordination Office, which will issue the official Internship Completion Letter.
  6. Bring this final package to the Office of University Engagement and Social Service at the Rector’s Office.

 

Both the completion letter and the final report must be addressed as follows:
